This policy explains what information is collected when playing Tap Toybox ("the App"), how it is used, and available choices. The App is developed by Hamoroj ("we", "us").
To show global and weekly leaderboards, the App stores the following on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), linked to an anonymous player ID created by Firebase Authentication:
Your nickname, avatar, and scores are visible to other players in the leaderboards. Your player ID is shown at the bottom of the Profile screen so you can use it for data requests.
The Friends feature lets you add friends and play live matches with them. It works only between players who added each other; there is no matchmaking with strangers. Linked to your anonymous player ID, the App stores:
Your friends can see your nickname, avatar, level, and online status. You can remove a friend at any time in the Friends screen.
The App offers optional purchases (for example gem packs, removing ads, and a starter pack). Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing on Android (Google Payments' privacy notice) and by Apple's App Store on iPhone (Apple Privacy Policy). We do not receive or store your name, card number, or other payment details. The App receives only the purchase record from Google Play or the App Store (product, order status, and a purchase or transaction ID) to deliver your items and to restore purchases such as "remove ads" on a new install.
When using the App, these services may collect:
The App can show reminder notifications (for example when a new mini-game is unlocked). They are scheduled on your device and no data is sent to us for them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings (Android: Settings › Apps › Tap Toybox › Notifications; iPhone: Settings › Notifications › Tap Toybox).
These services process data according to their own privacy policies:
Personal information is not sold and is used only as described in this policy.
Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland receive a consent message through Google before personalized ads display. Non-personalized ads may still appear if consent is declined. Privacy options in the App's settings allow users to change choices where available.
iPhone (App Tracking Transparency): on iPhone, the App asks for your permission before your IDFA can be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA is not shared and you may still see ads that are not personalized. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
United States: where state privacy laws apply (for example California), you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for ads using the privacy options in the App's settings.
Leaderboard and friends data are kept while these features are operated, or until you ask us to delete them. Pending invites expire after a short time. Purchase records are kept by Google Play or Apple according to their policies. Usage data in Firebase Analytics is retained for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted. AdMob and Tenjin retain data according to their own policies.
Depending on location (for example under GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or object to processing. To make a request about your leaderboard profile or friends data, email us your nickname and the player ID shown at the bottom of the Profile screen.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, and we will delete it.
Data sent by the App is transmitted over encrypted connections using reputable providers. Leaderboard and friends data are protected by access rules so that each player can change only their own profile. While no transmission method is completely secure, only necessary data is collected.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be posted with a new effective date.
